Cloud Chaser by Optima

By Author Name

Cloud Chaser is a glass-and-steel structured private residence located in a gated residential community at the foothills of Tonto National Forest in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The design planning was influenced by historic Native American homes. The house entry begins at the high point of the steep ravine site, with a path along the reflecting pool leading to the front door, employing the concept of the Native American courtyard.

A steel frame creates large, open spaces minimally enclosed with large expanses of glass. Steel was the ideal structural material for the harsh desert climate, offering timeless durability. The frameless mounted, UV-treated glass provides protection from the elements and show cases the natural beauty of the area. Other materials and finishes, including the natural stone and sandblasted colored concrete masonry exterior, were selected to blend into the desert landscape.
